WHO IS RSDC?!

RICOCHET STREET DANCE COMPANY

RSDC is a Voluntary Commercial Street Dance Organisation.

Since being founded in 2000, RSDC have already made an impact on the Urban Underground Street Dance Scene. Successfully beating the Americans in 2005 (claiming international status), and a year later becoming th e UK Street Dance Champions, beating over 80 other groups an d companies for their no1 top spot, RSDC have gone from strength to strength. The company has a strong reputation for their chorographic & crowd pleasing sets, which have many influences from both the drama and dance worlds, with a theatrical touch. By fusing together many different dance styles the company created their own style, 'Abstract Commercial Street' (ACS)

In mid 2008 RSDC saw the arrival of ‘Elysium’, RSDC’s 8th dance group, which started the beginning of the companies introduction on the commercial scene. Some of their shows have included, representing Aygo Toyota as ambassadors for Channel 4’s T4 at T4 on The Beach 2008, performing as special guests at the acclaimed NottingHill Carnival Trust’s Costume extravaganza, Childo’s ‘Take a Bow’ music video and the NSPCC 2008 Poverty Campaign.

2009 has great opportunities lined up for the company, developing its dance style and curriculum as well as taking the company to higher heights within the 'Dance Industry'.

The Dancers currently in Elysium are all studying dance as part of their curriculum at leading dance and musical theatre colleges and schools across London and the UK. Although we are not looking for Dancers who are trained in particular styles, we are however, looking for dancers that have sufficient experience, and a true passion for dance who dareto try out different ways of moving, and expand their ways of thinking!

RSDC will not lie to you! Rehearsals are very demanding, and dancers need a great deal of strength and stamina to be able to perform a company set. All RSDC dancers are required to commit 100% to all Rehearsals and shows as well as Advanced company Open Classes.

In return, RSDC will ensure that dancers are given:
- The best possible training, building you into a strong, rounded & cleaner dancer.
- A strong professional working environment.
- A well-rounded variety of shows in and around the UK and Europe (charitable & higher calibre)
